Who we are
Sheri Bell-O’Gara has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 23 years. Before finding her “calling in life”, Sheri worked for Indiana University Halls of Residence. After 6 years working at IU and feeling restless, she joined the United States Navy and served as a Broadcast Journalist in La Maddalena, Sardinia (Italy) for five years. It was in the Navy that Sheri met a couple of Social Workers who helped her find her way to her true career. After her Navy enlistment was over, she made her way back to IU and decided to go to Graduate School and become a Social Worker!
Her experiences as a Social Worker have included working with children, adolescents, families, adults and seniors. She has extensive training and experience in working with Veterans, especially Returning Combat Veterans from Iraq, Afghanistan and other combat regions.
Sheri has been trained in numerous therapies including; Cognitive Behavior Therapy for insomnia, depression and anxiety; EMDR training and Prolonged Exposure Training for Trauma related issues. She currently is learning about EFT, a tapping training for anxiety and hopes to utilize it soon. Sheri also likes to incorporate mindfulness into her sessions.
