Biography

Nicole first obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA in 2008 and is proud to say she was the first to graduate college in her family! She has worked as a bedside nurse at the local hospital where she lives for 10+ years and has worked in a variety of med-surg settings. She found a great connection caring for patients and really longed for a role where she could be more helpful on the aspect of spending more time with the patient and listening to their concerns, desires, and needs.

Nicole pursued a Master’s of Art in Professional Counseling at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA in 2016. Here she acquired advanced skills to counsel individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges.

Nicole didn’t always have an interest in mental health,  but her own life experiences and heart led her to really care for and have a yearning to help those who often go untreated and to really put her passion of caring for others to work. She then obtained a Master of Science in Nursing at Regis College in Weston, MA in 2019. This ultimate goal for Nicole was to be able to counsel individuals and prescribe medications should they be needed.

Before coming here, Nicole worked at a large mental health organization providing mental health services to children, as young as six, and adolescents in a partial hospitalization program. She enjoys working with children and adolescents and their families during such a critical time of development. Within the same organization, she worked with adults in an outpatient setting and inpatient setting.

Nicole believes medication is not the cure all option. With her counseling training, she likes to see her patients put their own efforts towards their current issues. Nicole uses cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and strives to advance her learning in many different components of therapy and staying on top of advances in medicine.

Along with her career passion, she is a proud mother of 4 children that keep her very busy. She is married and enjoys crocheting, golfing, loving on her 2 dogs and 2 cats, reading, growing her faith, and living each day as it comes!
