WHAT ARE ANXIETY DISORDERS?

Anxiety is something that can be part of everyday life, but generally subsides once a stressful situation ends. If you have an anxiety disorder, these fears or worries don’t go away and can sometimes get even worse. An anxiety disorder can cause impairment in your daily functioning, strain relationships, or affect workplace or academic performance. If your anxiety symptoms haven’t subsided and have lasted over 6 months, an evaluation and subsequent treatment can help to get you back on track.

WHAT ARE SOME GENERAL SIGNS OF ANXIETY DISORDERS?

In general, most people with anxiety disorders experience a sense of fear and worry.
However, there are unique symptoms for each disorder as well.

WHAT IS PANIC DISORDER?

Panic attacks (heart racing, sweating, difficulty breathing, sense of impending doom, chest pain, stomach pain, tingling sensation, dizziness).

DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT

After a careful clinical evaluation, we will determine which anxiety disorder you may have and begin treatment with a combination of medication management and psychotherapy. Research has shown that this combination of therapy and medication is the optimal treatment for anxiety disorders.

We offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which can help alter negative thinking patterns that promote anxiety states. We also offer stress management techniques, coping strategies, and can help you to develop an overall wellness plan that will diminish your anxiety.
